Welcome to tennis at Island Bay! Whether you are a seasoned player or a beginner, our club offers a friendly and supportive environment for all skill levels and ages.
We provide excellent facilities, including well-maintained courts, development sessions, regular social events and competitive leagues. Join us to improve your game, meet new people and enjoy the fun of tennis!
Social Tennis
Social tennis at Island Bay Tennis & Squash Club offers a relaxed and fun atmosphere where members of all skill levels can enjoy the game.
There are many options included in our club memberships, including tennis sessions and events for our senior and junior members.
Small group and individual coaching is also available through Island Bay Coaching Ltd, run by Dave Knight (additional costs will apply). This is a great way to meet people of a similar skill level and have fun together Check out our coaching page for more!
Thursday Club Night
* Seniors *
Every Thursday evening in summer (daylight savings) Senior Club Night is held 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Free for all senior members.
Sunday Club Day
* All ages *
Every Sunday year-round Club Day is held from 2:00pm for families and 3:00pm - 5:00pm for seniors. Free for all members of all ages.

Interclub Tennis
Keen to develop your game and test your skills across the region? Ask us about joining interclub - there are teams for all levels, from Premier 1 through to Junior ages.

Premier & Technifibre
Play against clubs from across the Wellington region. Options range from midweek, after work and weekends, with men's, women's and mixed gender across all levels during tennis season.
Winter League
Off-season interclub doubles competition played across the region supporting play year round.
Business House
Get a team together and enter this evening competition played weekdays inside at the Renouf throughout the year. Grades for all abilities.

Junior Tennis
There is lots on offer for our littlest members at Island Bay Tennis and Squash Club to get your kids moving, learning and loving the game of teams.
Our offerings include options for all ages and skill levels, focusing on developing skills, building confidence, and most importantly - having fun!
We are lucky to have a dedicated Junior Tennis Convener. Reach out via our contact page.
We offer junior memberships for those aged under 12, those aged 12 - 18, and full family members as well! Check out our membership page for more details.
On offer is coaching, both small group and individual for kids looking to begin play or improve their skills. Children must be junior members of Island Bay. This is run by coach Dave Knight and incurs additional cost.
Friday Club Night
All junior members are welcome to join 4:00pm - 5:00pm each Friday during school term. This is supported by our coaching team and is no cost to members.
Orange, green and yellow leagues target children at different levels of skill development through a safe and fun introduction to competition.
Give Tennis A Go
For our littlies, specifically kids aged 5-6 years old and new to tennis we can offer the option of Junior Coaching without club membership for up to one term.
This allows young kids a chance to give tennis a go without the commitment of club membership. This does not include access to courts outside of coaching sessions or to junior club day on Fridays.
Social Games and Events
We host regular family tennis competitions throughout the season. We also hold social kid-friendly events such as discos, family BBQ nights, quiz night and more!
